My Story

As long as I can remember, I've loved teaching.

While earning my BS and MS in Architectural Engineering from Kansas State University, I tutored 15–20 hours a week in subjects ranging from college algebra to differential equations. After graduating magna cum laude, I moved back to Kansas City and worked as a mechanical engineer at CRB, designing pharmaceutical facilities for clients like Merck and Pfizer.

In 2017, I started tutoring local high school students in math on evenings and weekends, but quickly saw the demand for test prep and refocused to specialize in the ACT.

250+ students and 4 years of side-hustling later, I officially founded Pathway Prep in January 2021 to help students full time. What I love most is watching a student get it β€” that spark when they realize it isn’t as hard as they thought. Building student confidence and reducing overwhelm is why I do what I do.

Grounded in engineering

As a licensed Professional Engineer, my first career was about creating plans contractors could build from correctly. I learned how much the right plan, clearly communicated, matters.

The same applies to teaching. First, we need a clear, correct path: my knowledge of the test structure lets us tear down misconceptions and learn what the test is really testing. Next, that path has to be communicated clearly. Every student learns differently, so we constantly tweak, refine, and engineer until we find the perfect path for you.
